Founded by Ron Tyrrell back in 1960, we were originally a small firm specialising in commercial flooring. We quickly built up a reputation for quality work, expertly done.
By the 1970s, business was booming. Ron’s son, Clive Tyrrell took the reins and we began to secure larger and larger contracts, such as those for the Property Service Agency (PSA). This saw us installing and maintaining flooring for a wide range of buildings, including government departments. Recent flooring projects have involved work at both the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Houses of Parliament.
The tradition of government work continued into the 2000s, when third-generation family member Joe Tyrrell joined the business. Since then, we the business has diversified across multiple sectors including education, leisure, residential and large commercial fit out. We have embraced new products and technology that have made us the contractor of choice for many major construction firms, developers, architects and designers.
Today Tyrrell is still a family-owned business, recognised for its heritage of exceptional quality and its ability to work flexibly, ensuring major construction projects are finished on time.
